Easy Homemade Granola

Easy Homemade Granola

I don’t know about you, but granola has always been of those things that I thought I had to buy. I’m not sure why. I just never thought about being able to make it at home. I’ve recently gotten into this kick of trying to remake all of my favorite snacks at home to see if I can lighten them up a bit.

Granola is one of my favorite snacks. I like eating it by itself or on top yogurt. Store bought granola usually has a lot of added oil and sugar.  I wanted to try to make it at home to see if I could make granola that tasted just as good as my favorite store-bought brand, but without the extra unnecessary oil and sugar.

My mind was blown at how easy making granola was. I was able to come up with a recipe that is delicious, and it cuts out the extra, unnecessary oil and sugar. I wanted to share my basic granola recipe with you because it’s just too good not to.

This granola is great on its own, but it also tastes delicious on top of my easy berry yogurt parfait.

For this recipe, we use really simple ingredients that you may already have on hand. Old fashioned oats, honey, coconut sugar, coconut oil, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and just a pinch of salt. That’s it! Super simple!

When I have a few extra minutes, and want a little something different, I like to add chia seeds, walnuts, hemp hearts, and coconut flakes to mine when it is done baking. This granola is really a blank canvas, so you can add whatever you want or you could just leave it as the basic recipe, which I do most of the time.

When you see how easy it is to make, you might start making it at home all the time. I actually prefer it this way so I don’t usually buy store bought granola anymore. It’s just too easy to make at home, it’s better than most brands, and I always have the ingredients on hand. Give this granola a try this week. You’ll be glad you did!
