What I Eat In A Day As An Intuitive Eater #1

This is my first “What I Eat In A Day” post since becoming an intuitive eater. I wanted to start writing these types of posts again because when I decided to start eating intuitively this type of content was very helpful to me. When my focus shifted from trying to lose weight to eating intuitively I was really interested in what people ate in a typical day, not because I wanted to eat just like they were eating, but it was helpful to see what a day of eating looked like from the other side when weight loss wasn’t the goal. Sometimes these posts gave me meal ideas and sometimes they simply gave me inspiration for moving forward with eating intuitively. Whatever the case is for you, I hope this post helps you in some way. Here’s a day in my life as an intuitive eater.

Day In My Life As An Intuitive Eater:

Pre coffee:

When I woke up I drank about 30 ounces of water. When I first wake up, I am so dehydrated so if there is one thing that I do EVERY morning, it’s drinking water first thing.

Having coffee has to be one of the best parts of my morning. I look forward to it! I put agave and creamer in my coffee every morning. I have been into making my own creamer these days. It’s so good and better than anything I can ever buy at the store. It’s really easy to make too.

Last night my husband, Patrick surprised me with a midweek sushi date. After eating sushi last night, all I really wanted this morning was a smoothie so I made my favorite green smoothie. It has spinach, coconut water, chia seeds, avocado, and collagen. I try to get collagen in every day because it really helps with my knee issues.

Just in case you’re interested I included a link to the collagen that I use. I have used this brand for years and love it. I have always purchased this collagen with my own money and have never been sponsored in any way, but if you purchase through this link, I may receive a small commission from Amazon.

Midafternoon Snack:

I was getting hungry but I wasn’t ready to eat a full lunch so I decided to have a snack. I ate a coconut Greek yogurt with walnuts on top.

Midafternoon Coffee:

I was really tired on this day. I didn’t get much sleep the night before so I needed a little bit of help to get through the day. I made another cup of coffee. I made it the exact same way as earlier. I try to stick to just one cup of coffee each day, but this day I needed a little something.

For lunch, I had air fryer chicken wings, mac and cheese, and green beans. It was a pretty late lunch because the yogurt held me over for longer than I expected.

I prepped all of these things during this week’s meal prep. If you want details you can take a look at the post: Meal Prep For The Week #1.

A few hours after lunch I was really craving my walnut brownies,  that I made during this week’s meal prep, so I had two.

I was planning on eating shrimp tacos for dinner, but I never got hungry for dinner so I did not eat. I’m really focusing on listening to my body and because I wasn’t hungry I did not eat.

I hope this post was helpful to you and that you not only got some meal ideas but the reassurance that your eating doesn’t have to be perfect just because you decide to become an intuitive eater. This was not a perfect day of eating by any means, but personally, I count each day a success if I made the decision to trust my body. Some days are better than others. Some days are easier than others, but overall the decision to reach outside my comfort zone and trust my body is what’s most important to me. I’m interested to know… what is the biggest challenge that you face when it comes to eating intuitively?
